Batukaru Temple



Pura Luhur Batukaru or Batukaru Temple is a temple in Tabanan, Bali, Indonesia. Located on the southern slope of Mt. Batukaru Bali's second-highest volcano, the temple is one of nine kayangan jagat (directional temples) meant to protect Bali from evil spirits.
Pura Luhur Batukaru Temple is one of the six directional temples on Bali that are believed to protect the island and its people from evil spirits. Pura Luhur Batukaru protects Bali from the West and was originally built in the 11th century. This is an especially sacred site, even by Balinese standards and all visitors must carefully read and abide by the temple rules posted clearly at the entrance. The temple is high on the slopes of the mountain and the often misty, drizzly micro-climate here just adds to its undoubtedly mystical atmosphere

Mount Bromo

Bromo is apart of Tengger – Semeru National Park. The steaming cone of Bromo stands in a sea of ashen, volcanic sand, surrounded by the towering cliffs of the crater´s edge. There are some peaks at this national park, and Mt. Semeru is the highest peak and one of the most active volcanoes.
